ORGANIZATION: American Red Cross of Idaho and Montana

PLACEMENT PURPOSE
Maintain, deploy, and recruit volunteers to serve across the region and nation during disaster responses.

OPEN TIME DAYS
5 to 15 hours per month

REQUIRED TRAINING

FOUNDATIONAL COURSES FOR ALL DISASTER VOLUNTEERS

Disaster volunteers are encouraged to complete the Foundational Courses within the first year of service and ALL existing disaster volunteers are encouraged to take these courses as a refresher and update within the next year.

  1. Disaster Cycle Services: An Overview (online selfstudy in EDGE)
  2. Concept of Operations Overview (online selfstudy in EDGE)
  3. Everyone is Welcome Disability Integration (Classroom)
  4. Psychological First Aid (Online selfstudy in EDGE starting March 2017)
  5. Recovery Services: An Overview (online selfstudy)or Shelter Fundamentals (online selfstudy in EDGE)
