Comforting Touch
Compassionate Care, One Day at a Time

Hospice Care of the Northwest Massage Therapy volunteers provide compassionate touch and presence to terminally ill hospice patients living at home or in long term care facilities, helping them to relax, increase circulation, and decrease their pain, stress and anxiety.

A person’s sense of isolation is often made worse by the lack of human touch. Facing the end of life, some are often overwhelmed and anxious while muscles may be contracted and stiff. The gift of massage and touch can help increase quality of life. Knowledgeable massage therapists offer comforting touch, relaxation, a sense of well being and emotional health.

All Hospice Care of the Northwest volunteers receive training and orientation in end-of-life care. Massage Therapist, Acupressure and Reiki Practitioner volunteers must be up to date with current licenses.

Hospice Care of the Northwest services the Portland and the greater Portland area (Multnomah, Clackamas and Washington Counties)and we have volunteer opportunities in your area that can work around your schedule. You will be well-supported and greatly valued by the entire hospice team. Your time is always appreciated.

I look forward to hearing from you! For more information and upcoming trainings, please contact me at:
