PLACEMENT PURPOSE
The coordinator serves in an on-call capacity and coordinates the Red Cross's response to fires and other emergencies; serving as the direct line of communication with the Emergency Communications Center (ECC) and DAT members in the field; dispatching the volunteers that are on shift for response and providing remote support, coordinating lodging and activating Client Assistance Cards (CAC); making notification to other Red Cross activities as needed. This position typically does not physically respond to the disasters, but there are occasionally exceptions
OPEN TIME DAYS
Coordinators are expected to cover a minimum of one 12 hour on-call shift per week. ⦆The maximum a Coordinator can work consecutively is 24 hours. ⦆There are both day and night shifts available. ⦆Sunday through Saturday. ⦆Day shifts are 7:00AM-7:00PM; Night shifts are 7:00PM - 7:00AM
