The Texas Health and Human Services helps low-income families/individuals with basic food, financial, medical and nursing home assistance.
Volunteers are needed to help with such tasks as: handle and process mail, copy and fax documents, complete reports, agency and community referrals for clients, greet customers and assist applicants complete forms for assistance, file, collate forms, switchboard duties and interpreting services.
This placement provides a great opportunity to obtain office experience.

Description
The Texas Health and Human Services Commission offers a learning opportunity in the Eligibility Services Program. This program helps to provide low-income families with basic food, financial and medical assistance through the following programs: Food Stamps, Temporary Assistance to Needy Families, (TANF), and Medicaid. Tasks available to volunteers are varied and placement is based upon the volunteer's interest, capability and the availability of openings. This placement offers valuable office experience and an insight into social services and the relationships between federal, state, community and individual needs.
