PLACEMENT PURPOSE
This is a volunteer position open to volunteers who have experience in Disaster Cycle Services, and hold current licenses in an eligible profession. Using professional knowledge and skills, Disaster Mental Health (DMH) responders provide approved disaster mental health interventions that focus on basic care, support and crisis management for individuals experiencing disaster-related stress. The Regional Group Advisor provides guidance at the regional level for the coordinating, communicating with and developing of volunteers. In consultation with regional staff the Regional Group Advisor assists volunteer leaders and staff in planning, implementing and evaluating regional policies and practices for the designated group activity. The Regional Group Advisor serves as a subject matter expert and advisor to regional, chapter and community leadership, as well as staff in their designated group activity. This position is intended for steady state (blue sky) and not during a larger disaster response.
