PLACEMENT PURPOSE
The American Red Cross Northwestern Pennsylvania Chapter seeks an organized, enthusiastic intern to assist with developing volunteers into activities and leadership roles that will help the Chapter meet its goals. The intern will also assist with preparing the chapter to incorporate a large community volunteer response following the impact of a disaster, enabling spontaneous volunteers to serve in a meaningful and effective way, and retaining those volunteers for future Red Cross service.
OPEN TIME DAYS
Flexible; Minimum 10 hours per week during business hours (9-5) with potential for evening or weekend activities; ｠Availability to work more as needed during times of active community wide disaster response
REQUIRED TRAINING- Orientation to the American Red Cross
- Disaster Services: An Overview
- Familiarity with Chapter Disaster Volunteer Management Teams document
- On the job training with supervisor of Volunteer Connection database system and Red Cross Disaster Services program
