Harbor House needs volunteers passionate about serving youth ages 5 - 19 with recreation activities and reading. During summer you can help to chaperone on fieldtrips. You will have the opportunity to get to know youth one on one and make a huge difference in their lives. Most of our volunteers have found this to be a life changing experience and many have planned their career aspirations accordingly.

Harbor House Ministries is a non-profit organization that provides opportunities for people with limited resources to become self-sufficient through educational, spiritual, and economic programs so that, together, everyone becomes all that God intends us to be. We welcome everyone regardless of ethnicity or religion and we do not require a faith commitment in exchange for services.
Description
Harbor House was formed in 1972 and has a tremendous record of staff, volunteer, and donor involvement from diverse backgrounds. The educational, spiritual, economic development, and training departments work together to offer various programs including emergency food, ESL, a clothing store, quilting class, youth leadership development program, recreation, tutoring, mentoring, and a multi-cultural children's choir.
This area has a large immigrant population and 91% of the students attending the local elementary school receive free lunches. While Harbor House is a Christian organization, we provide programs to everyone irrespective of race, national or ethnic origin, sexual orientation, gender or handicap.
