PLACEMENT PURPOSE
The American Red Cross Disaster Cycle Services (DCS) is launching the Home Fire Preparedness Campaign (HFPC) in October 2014. Its goal is to reduce the rate of deaths and injuries due to home fires by 25 percent over 5 years. Its strategy includes participating in a community coalition that targets neighborhoods at-risk for home fires; installs and tests smoke alarms; and provides fire safety and disaster preparedness education/planning. We are seeking an event planner to plan for a Home Fire event one time per month (Saturday event).
OPEN TIME DAYS
Events are held one Saturday per month in each Red Cross location.⦆ Home Fire Campaign Event Planners work flexible hours throughout the month to plan for the event and attend the Saturday event.

A 6 month minimum committment is required for this position with a minimum of one event per month.
REQUIRED TRAINING- Orientation to American Red Cross
- Disaster Services: An Overview (optional)
- HFPC Guidance and Training: Safety for Home Visits, Smoke Alarm Installation, and
other required training.
