PLACEMENT PURPOSE
Thank you for your interest in becoming a Red Cross volunteer and participating in our Transportation Specialist program! As a volunteer driver, you’ll play a critical role in helping make sure blood products are available when patients need it. Drivers help deliver blood products to local and regional hospitals in the Connecticut and the surrounding area. Patients need blood for many different reasons. Accident and burn victims, those receiving treatment for cancer, heart surgery patients and many others all may need blood. You play a major role in our life-saving efforts! This position is BASED in Farmington, CT and volunteers will need to come to Farmington, CT to pick up vehicles.
OPEN TIME DAYS
- Shifts available at flexible times: mornings, afternoons, nights, and weekends
- Minimum commitment: 1 shift/mont
- Approximately 56 hours per shift
- Orientation to American Red Cross
- Transportation Specialist Training
- On the job training
