PLACEMENT PURPOSE
The Western Colorado Chapter is seeking a volunteer who has good project and people management skills to lead its Public Affairs (communications) volunteer team.

OPEN TIME DAYS

Minimum:｠ 1- 1.5 hours per week.｠ This would consist of:

  • Talking with Chapter executive and regional communications weekly (2040 minutes)
  • Sending out assignments to team (15 minutes)
  • Following up on assignments/managing volunteers (1530 minutes).

Optional: 6-8 hours per month. This would consist of the duties above, plus:

  • Helping to recruit, train and onboard new volunteers (as opportunities arise, 3090 minutes per volunteer)
  • Meeting/talking with additional Red Cross staff and/or attending chapter meetings to identify story opportunities (3060 minutes per meeting)
  • Writing one article per month, taking occasional photos or videos, writing/sending news releases, and/or fulfilling a shift on the oncall media relations team (24 hours per month).
