Overview
Develop, write, and test computer programs geared for language work.
- For a full-time volunteer or a staff person who raises support
- Must be a US citizen or green card holder to apply
Responsibilities
- Develop, write, and test computer programs geared for language work as delegated by the Language Software Board
- Designs, writes and tests computer programs geared for language related work
- Writes technical reference documentation for the new programs. Analyzes software needs by consulting with users
- Keeps abreast with current computer system technology
Education and Experience
- Degree in Computer Science, related degree or equivalent experience
- MCSD Certification recommended or equivalent open source experience or training
- MS Office applications and/or Open Office applications experience Develop, write, and test computer programs geared for language work

Description
JAARS is a multidisciplinary team of problem-solvers committed to the belief--and the vision--that people’s lives and communities are transformed as they experience God’s Word in their own language.
We are a community of full-time missionaries, dedicated volunteers, and a few employees who work together to accomplish the Great Commission goal of providing Scripture to every people group on earth in a language and form they clearly understand. We do that by supporting Bible translation and language development partners globally, and by working with prayer and financial partners in the United States to help make a range of unique on-the-field solutions possible.
