We are searching for high school aged volunteers who are interested in teaching and inspiring children in STEM. Volunteers will be teaching classes at libraries around the South Bay, with topics focusing on the "fundamentals of computer science".
Classes are 1.5 hours on Saturdays, at libraries such as Tully library, Calabazas library, Campbell library, Evergreen library, and Northside branch library. A single volunteer teacher usually teaches 1-2 classes per month.
We require all teachers have a commitment to volunteering with a Silicon Valley Kids for several months. In return, Silicon Valley Kids will sign off on the teacher's volunteer hours.
No prior teaching or technical experience is necessary, all training will be provided.
