Are you a Marion County resident who appreciates the beauty of the outdoors? Do you have an interest in helping to ensure county parks are designed, utilized and maintained to fit the needs of our community? This is the position for you!
The commission meets quarterly to advise the Marion County Board of Commissioners on land acquisition, development, operation and maintenance of the system of 18 developed and 3 undeveloped county parks. The commission also helps promote the discovery of sites and facilities suitable for recreational, scenic and historical purposes.
Members are appointed by the board of commissioners to serve four-year terms. Must be at least 18 years old. Positions are open until filled.
This 7-member committee meets every three months on Wednesdays from 10:00 am-12:00 p.m. in N.E. Salem.
