Docents at MoA are trained volunteers who share their interest and love of art with visitors. The main role of the museum docent is to facilitate learning for visitors and act as a bridge between those visitors and the current exhibition. Docents conduct guided tours for audiences of all ages and interest, and include school groups.
There is no prerequisite beyond interest! MoA will provide training for volunteers selected to become docents. General training includes background information and art appreciation, interacting with visitors, and skills for creating fun and informative tours. More specific training also occurs with each new exhibition.
