Calling all volunteers! The Brigance Brigade Foundation is a nonprofit organization founded by former Baltimore Raven, O.J. Brigance and his wife, Chanda. It provides hope and help to people living with ALS (Lou Gehrig’s disease) and their families. The Foundation makes a yearly contribution to ALS research causes, but the bulk of its focus is about helping ALS families with necessary medical equipment and care not covered by insurance. Living with ALS is estimated to cost families up to $200,000 per year.

Join us on Sunday, April 30 th at Canton Waterfront Park for the 4 th Annual Brigance Brigade Foundation 5.7k Championship Event! This event features: timed 5.7k race, 1.57 mile walk, and a kids’ fun run. We need 20-30 volunteers to help oversee the day’s festivities. Volunteer shifts will run approximately 7am - 1pm.

We also need a few volunteers for Saturday, April 29 th at Canton Waterfront Park for packet pick up. Volunteer shifts will run 9am - 1pm and 1pm - 5pm.

Calling all cheerleaders! Join us on Sunday, April 30 th at Canton Waterfront Park for the 4 th Annual Brigance Brigade Foundation 5.7k Championship Event! This event features: timed 5.7k race, 1.57 mile walk, and a kids’ fun run, and we are looking for cheerleaders to add to the fun and festive feel of the event! Meeting time is 8am that morning. You and a group of friends or teammates will be stationed at one of a few places: Start/Finish; split between the walk and the race routes; or the half-way points of walk and race.

The more the merrier - invite your friends! No lifting or tumbling is allowed, but cheers,poms, and signs are extremely encouraged!

This is a fundraiser, so we ask for those who can contribute to sign up as a racer/walker HERE on the race website, and we will have a t-shirt and race swag for you! If you are interested in strictly volunteering, we understand. Either way, we thank you for helping us to equip, encourage, and empower people battling ALS. Thank you!
