Come and give back to your community by volunteering at one of our produce distribution sites! It is a hands-on, rewarding experience that will allow you to experience volunteerism at its finest.

Time Commitment: One-time, long-term, Group: Mondays from 12-2pm

Service Location: Olive Grove

Position description and goals:

The Food Distribution Volunteer will assist in the organization and distribution of received produce to individuals who attend the event.

Responsibilities:

• Must be welcoming to all recipients
• Must be on time in order to set up tables, help unload produce from the truck and distribute the food into bins
• Ability to stay after the distribution to help clean up
• Distribute produce equally among the bins
• Communicate with recipients to ensure they are getting what is offered/ extra if it exists
• Must practice safety while volunteering
• Will follow Redwood Empire Food Bank's safety requirements
• Will ensure that bins are properly cleaned and sanitized with wipes

Required Skills/ qualifications:

• Ability to maintain a working relationship with other program volunteers and participants
• Ability to carry and move up to 50lbs

Training Provided: A volunteer coordinator will be available for assistance for the initial produce distribution.
