Do you love bats? Do you believe in the value of eco-tourism? Does sharing the importance of wildlife conservation and education excite you? Please consider becoming one of our valuable volunteers at the Ann W. Richards Congress Avenue Bridge in the center of downtown Austin; home to the largest urban Mexican free-tailed bat colony in the world!
Bat Conservation International spends Fridays nights at the Congress Avenue Bridge sharing the importance of bat conservation to the public through educational material, bat facts and specimens though out the summer months into fall (approximately May through September). We represent BCI and its mission in bat conservation for 2 hour shifts once weekly.
We require a minimum of a 4 night commitment for the season and hope you’ll come more often-we want you to fall in love with not only the bats, but with the opportunity to share your enthusiasm with the public.
During this training session, you will be given talking points on how best to educate the public about BCI’s work and the importance of bat conservation. This is a perfect opportunity for students wishing to pursue work in environmental studies along with anyone that sees value in biodiversity and bat populations, worldwide.
Tuesday, July 11, Wednesday July 12 OR Wednesday, July 19 (CHOOSE ONE), 7 to 8:15 p.m.
