Help PBTF cure the kids!

The Pediatric Brain Tumor Foundation, the world’s largest non-profit funder to find a cure for childhood brain tumors, is seeking a secretary for the Starry Night 5K. The Starry Night 5K will be in its 4th year and it raising desperately needed funds to find a cure for the 28,000 children in the U.S. living with a brain tumor. The PBTF is seeking a talented, passionate, long-term volunteer to help us raise awareness in the Philadelphia area!

Position summary:

The Event Day Festivities Lead is responsible for securing vendors, entertainment and Starry Night activities. Perfect for an event planner!

Major Responsibilities:

  • Recruit a sub-Committee team of 1-2 volunteers to assist with Starry Night festivities and planning
  • Reach out to local businesses to recruit vendors for Starry Night
  • Work with Media Lead to secure event day entertainment and emcee
  • Attend monthly Starry Night volunteer committee meetings and provide updates to Committee Chairs
  • Assist in securing Starry Night sponsors and participants
  • Promote Starry Night through daily professional activities
  • Attend and provide volunteer leadership at Starry Night

Time Required (approximately):

Per month:

Attend volunteer Committee meeting (1) 2 hours

Track progress and complete tasks 4 hours

Provide correspondence to Committee Chairs and PBTF staff 1 hour

Total: 7 hours per month

Additional time requirements:

One initial planning meeting with Committee Chair 1 hour
