Volunteers will assist City staff to create a welcoming and clean environment at the Santa Clara Recreation Center and Beach Area located in the Mission Beach neighborhood of City Council District 2!
Activities include; litter abatement, non-native brush removal, playground cleanup and maintenance, helping with cleanup of beach area and palm tree areas, painting tables, curbs or baseball backstops.
Help us clean up the recreation center, playground area and beach area!
Santa Clara Recreation Center serves thousands of San Diego's community members throughout the year providing, sports, arts and crafts, homework help, a playground, green park space on the water, baseball fields and many other recreational activities and opportunities for community members of all ages! Come out and help us for this one-time event hosted by the Park and Recreation Department during the "City of San Diego Week of Service" to make San Diego a world class city for all!
Shifts from 9:00 a.m.- 11:00a.m. on April 25th. Please wear closed toe shoes, long sleeves and pants and proper sun protection. Water and a limited number of work gloves will be provided, if you have your own leather work gloves, please bring them with you!

San Diego's Park and Recreation Department is responsible for overseeing nearly 40,000 acres of developed and undeveloped open space, more than 340 parks including Balboa Park, Mission Trails Regional Park, and Mission Bay Park; 25 miles of shoreline from Sunset Cliffs to La Jolla; 13 pools; 3 public golf complexes; 56 recreation centers and more. Park and recreation professionals and volunteers host hundreds of community events each year and provide safe places for thousands of children to go after school. City employees and volunteers take great pride to enrich the lives of others through quality parks and programs, designed and developed so that people of all ages, abilities and income levels have the chance to participate in excellent recreational opportunities.
