Music Education Program Internship/ Volunteer
Objectives: Classics 4 Kids is looking for a Music Education Program Intern to help support the organization’s educational concerts at the Balboa Theatre, in-school workshops, docent trainings, and other program related activities. The Program Intern will work under the direction of the Artistic Director and will assist in the areas of programming, music library, concert and workshop set-up, repertoire research and more.
Skill Set Required: The ideal candidate will have excellent verbal and written communication skills, with strong a interest in gaining experience in the area of music education for elementary students and orchestra concert and program management. Musical background and ability to read music desired. PowerPoint, Word, and Excel experience is helpful. Reliable transportation and solid time management skills desired.
Schedule: The intern will assist with in-school workshops, assemblies, theater concerts, docent trainings and other program related events as available. Schedule is varied from week to week. Mostly weekday mornings with some possible weekend hours. Programs take place at sites around the City of San Diego.

Classics 4 Kids concerts combine live orchestra performances with visual media to help classical music come to life through the interpretations of dance, drama, art, film and more.
