The SustainAbilityCT (iACT) project focuses on economic solutions that drive employment, education and housing. Recognizing that economic stability is the most important predictor of an individual’s ability to permanently exit an abusive relationship, DVCC created iACT to help victims achieve financial security through numerous resources, including financial education workshops, resume preparation, job search strategies, and connection to job training programs and affordable housing resources. The goal is that clients become financially savvy, self-confident and in control of every aspect of their lives.
The SustainAbilityCT program of DVCC is looking for professionals who can assist our clients and staff in areas of: Debt planning; Mortgages; Automotive financing; Family Law;Consumer law; CPA; Financial Literacy; Tax laws and more. If you think you have a skill or competency that will help our clients we would love to talk to you.More opportunities with The Domestic Violence Crisis Center

Description
The staff at the Domestic Violence Crisis Center are nearly 60 individuals with years of experience and expertise in the field of domestic violence; we are counselors, educators and attorneys; we advocate for you in the court system and medical community; we offer SafeHouses where victims and their children can be safe while making more permanent plans; we partner with an organization that can find temporary foster care for your pet while you are in the SafeHouse. Our PeaceWorks Prevention Education Project provides prevention programming in schools throughout our communities to educate young people about healthy relationships. PeaceWorks’ age and grade-appropriate programs cover a multitude of topics from conflict resolution to bullying to understanding the dynamics of dating violence. Our Training Advocacy Project offers trainings and workshops on domestic violence throughout the adult community. Many of us speak Spanish, and we also can help if you speak another language or live with disabilities. With EsperanzaCT we provide a Spanish language website ( www.esperanzact.org) and 24-hour phone service line answered by Spanish speaking counselors. We invite you to call us or come in and see how we can help if you think you may be in an abusive relationship. All our services are confidential and without charge.
