Mission:
Youngzine's mission is to bridge the gap between the classroom and the real world by providing a platform for young people to learn, explore and discover their role as global citizens.

Youngzine began with the desire to connect young students to the real world. Youngzine is a free, online resource for children 8-15 that promotes global awareness through engaging, easy to understand news stories, without bias or sensationalism. Youngzine's content helps educators make classroom learning relevant by making connections to the real world. Youngzine provides a forum for children to share their opinions in a moderated environment.
Job Description: Board member (volunteer position)
Our online presence is growing! Today, we are in over a thousand classrooms in the US and around the world. In order to help us achieve and grow our audience, continue driving towards our vision, we are in need of passionate Board members to join our team. We seek individuals who have:
Extensive professional experience in Journalism, Business, Marketing, Legal, Philanthropy and the Non-profit sector
A deep personal passion to help further our mission
A high regard for diversity
Leadership skills and the ability to find common ground
Strong oversight and non-profit governance
Expertise in fund-raising towards our mission/vision
Board meetings are once a month in South Bay in California. In additional to these meetings, board members will mentor and advise the Executive Director on operational issues facing the organization. We look forward to hearing from you.
