Learn to prepare your garden beds to grow the best veggies ever

Help our team do seasonal garden bed preparation. Removing old plants, adding compost and fertilizer to our raised beds makes the beds ready to receive new plantings of the coming seasons vegetable crops.

Bed preparation and maintenance happens on Tuesday, Wednesday and Saturday mornings from 9:00 am until noon after we finish harvesting and is the focus of our work on Friday afternoons from 3 pm until dark (6 pm usually).

Please contact us to confirm the date of your visit so we can add you to our roster.

Our volunteers are encouraged to start their own gardens at home and to share what they grow with their neighbors, food pantries and Open Heart Kitchen.

2. To teach and empower local residents to grow food organically and sustainably at their homes through lectures, hands-on volunteer training, and online resources.

3. To teach and empower local organizations such as businesses, faith-based groups, and schools to start and/or maintain gardens at their locations, emphasizing organic and sustainable gardening practices.
