Want to give back to your community while volunteering in a fun, outdoor setting?
Want to meet other like-minded folks who care about their community and also want to keep it vibrant?
Like the idea of chatting with community members and farmers?
Help staff our community market with a two-hour shift between 2pm and 9pm on Thursday evenings!
Pick a 2-hour (or longer) shift and make a difference in your community! Responsibilities include:
- Greeting patrons as they enter the market
- Educating community members about the market & answering questions
- Coordinating youth and nutrition activities
- Facilitating CalFresh (food stamp) transactions
- Set up
- Taking over social media
- Clean up
- Dog watching
- Translating (Spanish/English)
- Sampling Fresh Fruit to community memebers
- And more!!
Mission Community Market is a largely volunteer-driven, independent farmers market and we will tailor volunteer responsibilities to your interests. If you've got the drive, we'll find a way to help you give back to your community.

Mission Community Market is so much more than just a farmers’ market. Our open-air marketplace is made up of farmers, small local businesses, music and culture programming . We promote family health and are creating a fun, beautiful public space for the Mission District. We believe the greatest challenges facing the Mission today are family health and economic security. Through the power of food, Mission Community Market presents a solution for both. The Mission Community Market provides choice and education for healthy living, access to market for emerging businesses, and a public forum for community programs as a means to improved public health, safety and beautification in the streets and neighborhoods of San Francisco's Mission District.
Description
The Mission Community Market is a weekly, non-profit marketplace on 22nd and Mission Street in the Mission District of San Francisco. Every Thursday from 4-8pm the Market celebrates the Mission by providing a safe, inviting public space for fresh and local foods, access to market for emerging businesses, and a forum for Mission community programs focusing on youth, health and physical activity, and the arts.
