We would love to have you join our Patient Support Volunteer orientation. Lunch, drinks, good company, and snacks are provided.
Dates of orientations: Saturday, September 7th, 2024 and Friday, September 13th. IF NEITHER OF THESE DATES WORK FOR YOU LET ME KNOW! We will talk about another date to get you oriented.
We are especially needing volunteers (but not limited to) in Cedar Creek, Austin, and the surrounding areas. Especially North such as Georgetown, Leander, Cedar Park, Round Rock and Hutto.
Who our patients are: Individuals who have a life expectancy of 6 months or less - given their illness takes it's natural progression. And their loved ones.
How volunteers specifically fit in: Volunteers are friendly visitors who go in without an agenda and visit, or may provide a break for a caregiver.
A little about our volunteers:.
- Schedule their volunteering around their busy lives
- Only need 2 hours a month of free time to volunteer!
- Come from diverse backgrounds; age, work, families, thoughts, life styles, and where they live
- Do not provide any direct medical support such as feeding, giving medicines, transferring, bathing
- Do not need previous experience in the medical field or in volunteering
I hope you're interested! Contact Katrina Wilson at kawilson@newcenturyhospice.com or 512-342-8288
I look forward to hearing from you!
