Blessings in a Backpack is working to expand our presence in key markets, and to do so, we are inviting community and business leaders in those markets to attend events to learn more about our work and goals in that region. These events include cocktail hours, lunch and learns, and open house packing events. In order to invite these guests, we must collect key contact information for the business leaders in each market - for example, contact person, title, address, city, state, zip, phone number and email address. This information will be gathered through online research and entered into a spreadsheet.
One volunteer would be preferred but can be multiple. Must have a bility to search online and type information into a spreadsheet.

Mission Statement
Blessings in a Backpack mobilizes communities, individuals and resources to provide food on the weekends for elementary school children across America who might otherwise go hungry.
Description
Our Vision:
Every school-aged child in America has the nourishment needed to learn and grow. As a leader in the movement to end childhood hunger, Blessings in a Backpack strives to ensure children do not go hungry on the weekends by empowering individuals and communities to take action.
Why Do We Do It
More than 13 million children in this country are at risk of hunger. The consequences of hunger are much more than a growling stomach. Poor nutrition can result in a weaker immune system, increased hospitalization, lower IQ, shorter attention spans, and lower academic achievement. Federal government programs feed children during the school week, but we also want to ensure they get nutritional meals over the weekend.
How Much Does it Cost?
$150 will feed one child on the weekends for one 36-week school year through the Blessings in a Backpack program. The Results: Nourished Kids Ready to Learn.
Food is an essential building block; in this case, it truly is a blessing, especially to a hungry child!
Visit the Get Involved section of our website to find out how you can help Blessings in a Backpack feed more children.
