BRMH looking for drivers
Cindy Clark, Director of Volunteer Services for Black River Memorial Hospital, is recruiting for transportation volunteers.
"If a person has an accident, and is brought to our hospital," states Clark, "sometimes, they do not have a way back home after discharge." That could be one possible scenario; needing to get to a loved one who has been transferred to a different facility could be another.
"I do enjoy helping people who have had an unfortunate situation arise," said Bill Foust, BRMH transportation volunteer. "Sometimes we get truckers passing through off the interstate, and they have no one to help them and nowhere to turn either. It feels good to help." An added benefit would be meeting new people and hearing interesting stories.
Volunteer drivers could be needed for any time of the day. The ideal candidates will be friendly drivers, with good driving records who can show proof of insurability. Mileage is reimbursed at federal IRS rates.
If you feel you could help, and would like more information, contact Cindy Clark at Black River Memorial Hospital at 715-284-1391 or clarkc@brmh.net.
