Do you like golf? How about supporting children and education? Then join us at our annual "Tee Off Fore Our Kids" charity golf tournament this year on Monday, April 17, 2017 at The Peninsula Golf and Country Club. We are in need of volunteers for the event. Join us for a day of golf, dinner, drinks and auction to support our children at Weingarten Children’s Center where we provide specialized early academic and clinic instruction such as speech, language and auditory therapy for children who are deaf, hard of hearing or have communication challenges.
Volunteers are essential to the success of this crucial fundraiser! The details are as follow:
When: Monday, April 17, 2017We need volunteers from 8:00 AM to 8:00 PM. Feel free to come for an hour or all day!
Where: The Peninsula Golf and Country Club

Volunteering shifts and responsibilities are:
8:00 AM to 12:00 PM- setting up registration; prepping golf course with banners, tables & chairs; checking golfers in; selling "add-on" prizes; presenting golfers with their gifts; setting up and assisting with lunch - Need 15 volunteers
12:00 PM to 4:00 PM - cleaning up and tearing down registration and lunch area; setting up cocktail lounge, dinner and auction ballroom; act as runner to replenish beverage stations on golf course; rotate between on course event stations to provide spotters breaks - Need 15 volunteers
4:00 PM to 8:00 PM - continue setting up cocktail lounge, dinner and auction ballrooms; assisting with cocktail hour; selling "add-on" raffle tickets; runner for live auction; assisting with golf pros with award ceremony as needed; tear down of cocktail lounge, dinner and auction ballrooms - Need 10 volunteers
The Peninsula and Country Club is a private club. Please wear a collared/buttoned down shirt and a pair of khakis. NO jeans are allowed.
The success of this important fundraising event is dependent on our volunteers, and we couldn't have done it without you these past couple of years! Thank you for being so generous and being a part of our event!

Weingarten Children's Center (formerly Jean Weingarten Peninsula Oral School for the Deaf) in Redwood City is a not-for-profit, state accredited non-public school teaching deaf children to listen, think and talk through intensive speech/language therapy and the development of listening skills.

Established in 1967, our program focuses on the development of auditory, language, speech and cognitive skills in children with hearing aids and cochlear implants.
WCC is committed to providing a model of excellence in auditory oral education. We are dedicated to meeting the needs of deaf and hard of hearing children and their families.
We value and nurture the development of each child's self esteem, imagination and creativity.
Our goal is to assist each child in developing to their fullest potential in order to access mainstream education and integrate into the community at large.
