The Prairie Arkansas Literacy Council has expanded its services and we need your helpto extend adult literacy programs to your local communities. PAL-Literacy is looking for enthusiastic tutors and volunteers to provide adult literacy up to an 8th grade level, ESL (English as a second Language) and family literacy. Volunteers and tutors are needed in all four literacy councillocations: Hazen, Lonoke, Cabot and Stuttgart.
Volunteer duties include helping in our offices and bookstores, volunteering for events and fund-raising and several other opportunities. All trainings and materials are free and provided by the Literacy Council.

Mission Statement
The purpose of the council is to serve the needs of adults, families and communities through adult and family literacy, as well as English as a second language. The council is organized exclusively for religious, charitable, scientific, literary, or educational purposes within the meaning of Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code, or the corresponding sections of any future federal tax code.
Description
The council exists to help adults (age 16 or older) achieve functional levels of reading,writing, and math skills through adult literacy and English as a second language. Also to strengthen individuals, families and communities through adult and family literacy, and English as a second language. All Materials are free, all tutoring is free.
