Support The Salvation Army El Cajon Corps Community Center in helping our intergenerational garden grow! Common Grounds, our NEW community garden, helps seniors and children work side by side while tending to the garden's needs.
Qualifications and requirements for this position:
- Must be able to commit to one hour a week from 3:00-4:30 pm on Thursdays, for three months or more
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and boundaries as required and appropriate
- Have strong interpersonal skills; Ability to work effectively with culturally diverse staff and participants
- Lead small groups in maintaining health of vegetable garden, such as watering and feeding of plants, cleaning plant debris, and communicating garden needs with leads
- Lead group activities related to gardening, such as games or crafts
