Golden Gate Audubon Lake Merritt and Heron Docents will again take to the this urban park to monitor the nests in this incredible urban park. We’re looking for volunteers who will:
- Attend training on March 28
- Volunteer 2 times a month 2 hours each April through June.
- Share spotting scope views of the nesting birds from a safe distance for the birds.
- Count the birds to help us better understand their population.
- Speak with interested members of the public and answer their questions. English/Spanish/Mandarin/Cantonese and Vietnamese speakers are welcome!
- We connect volunteers to go out in together and provide materials.

Founded in 1917, Golden Gate Bird Alliance is one of the oldest wildlife conservation organizations on the West Coast. We have a long history of inspiring and connecting people in the Bay Area with local birds, wildlife and their habitats and today play a critical role in Bay Area wildlife conservation. Golden Gate Bird Alliance has roughly 7,000 members and supporters in San Francisco, Alameda and Contra Costa counties.
