Cancer Lifeline

Call for volunteers:

At Cancer Lifeline, we provide emotional support, resources, educational classes and exercise programs designed to support people in all stages of the cancer process. Our volunteers provide a wide range of specialized talents and skills and we depend on their energy and enthusiasm!

We are currently looking for volunteers to:

  • Provide emotional support and resource referrals on our Lifeline (must complete a 20 hour in-person training)
  • Help with administrative tasks such as reminder calls and mailings
  • Be a knowledgeable Cancer Lifeline representative tabling events in the community

Volunteer opportunities are currently available in a variety of areas and we are recruiting now for our volunteer training in March!

Description

Since 1973, Cancer Lifeline has been a leader in providing emotional support, information and resources to those touched by cancer. Our program provides support through educational classes, nutrition programs, gentle exercise, financial navigation and a toll free telephone Lifeline Monday - Friday 9am-5pm.

Our programs are designed to support people in all stages of the cancer process and we welcome patients, survivors, their families, friends, co-workers and caregivers.

Our services are available throughout Western Washington and through our nation-wide toll free telephone Lifeline at 1-800-255-5505. Cancer Lifeline also partners wth three area hospitals: Evergreen Medical Center, Valley Medical Center and Northwest Hospital and Medical Center.

Thanks to the generosity of private donors, Cancer Lifeline's services are provided at no charge.
