Chrysalis serves people navigating barriers to the workforce by offering a job-readiness program, individualized supportive services, and paid transitional employment. We empower our clients on their pathway to stability, security, and fulfillment in their work and lives.
The Class TA Facilitator will:
- Welcome clients to Zoom classroom
- Assist facilitator in letting clients into Zoom classroom and record class attendance
- Mute/unmute clients as attendance is recorded
- Communicate with assigned Volunteer & Program Coordinator after shift(s), in the case of any client issues, changes in volunteer schedule, etc.
We also offer an assortment of Enrichment adult classes in addition to the job preparation class. Spanish speakers are strongly encouraged to apply! A volunteer may choose to teach one or more courses at a time. We are seeking to fill the following class times:
Monday at 1:15pm (in person)
Tuesday at 9am (in person)
Tuesdays at 10:30 am (Spanish) and at 2pm
Wednesdays at 10am and 2pm
Thursday at 2pm
Qualifications & Requirements:
- Highly motivated by Chrysalis’ mission and desire to improve social and economic
fabric of our community - Be at least 18+ years

- Attend a volunteer informational session
- Be prepared to work with individuals who have limited work experience
- Be willing to work respectfully with people of all cultural and socioeconomic backgrounds
- Intermediate Computing and Applications (comfortability using Zoom and Google Drive)

Description
Our Volunteers are essential to this mission, and work directly with clients to help them gain employment. You can:
Facilitate classes (job search, money management, stress management, goal planning, computers, recovery, incarceration etc.)
Perform One-on-one resume building, interview practice and computer help
Provide Job search assistance
Sort donation items
We seek volunteers with excellent communication skills who want to make an impact in their local community. You will be directly involved in helping people enter the working world and regain their confidence, pride and stability.
Volunteer opportunities are available Monday-Thursday 8am-4pm and Friday 8am -12pm. Training is provided, and we ask for a 4 month commitment. Opportunities are available in the San Fernando Valley, Downtown LA, Santa Monica, and Anaheim.
