Detroit Arena @ SEHS

Want to use your love of math to help students succeed in school? The Detroit Arena Alternative HS program is seeking tutors with proficiency in Algebra 1, 2 and Geometry.

This volunteer will help students develop knowledge, insight, problem-solving and critical thinking skills as related to the subject of Algebra. The tutor should have the ability to be very patient and possess a sense of creativity in order to create an environment that inspires productive learning. Volunteers are needed to commit one hour a week, any day Monday-Friday between the hours of 10:00AM - 3:00PM

Through the creation of a new alternative program the Education Achievement Authority of Michigan (EAA) is underscoring its commitment to meeting the academic and social emotional needs of our over-age, under-credited students. Detroit Arena’s innovative school model prepares students to earn a high school diploma, and leave as self-motivated and confident individuals who are ready to pursue their post-secondary education or enter the workforce.
