Put your sales and/or marketing experience to work in a way that will change lives.

The award-winning non-profit Bpeace seeks sales and marketing experts to mentor small business owners in Herat and Mzar-i-Sharif, Afghanistan. The entrepreneurs are among 15 participants in the Bpeace Fast Runner economic development program. Bpeace surrounds these entrepreneurs with pro bono business consulting to help them overcome challenges and take advantage of opportunities to growth. We believe more jobs mean less violence.

The entrepreneurs run businesses in both service and manufacturing sectors with minimal education or knowledge of sales and marketing tecniques. Presently, marketing is primarily conducted through word of mouth. The use of social media as a marketing tool is nascent.

You will consult virtually by email, phone, Skype or GoToMeeting with support from Bpeace, bilingual, Program Manager in Afghanistan to address one or two of the following:

--Recommend opportunities to improve sales activities focusing on people skills, processes and strategies. --Assist a firm in defining it’s competitive advantage and articulating the firm’s value proposition in sales messages. --Modify and improve current sales materials, processes and policies and develop new ones as needed. --Develop a marketing plan;suggest innovative and low cost methods to market their products and services, including but not limited to social media.

Skills and experience needed

--7+ years’ experience in sales and marketing with either B2C or B2B experience
in services and or manufacturing. --Proven level of cultural competence; experience working in the developing world preferred. --Available early mornings for Skype calls. --Ability to work independently. --Excellent communication skills. Sense of humor. --Flexibility; able to work where there is ambiguity and uncertainty.

In 2022, Bpeace Skillanthropists are working with 130+ small and medium-size business owners in the U.S., El Salvador, Guatemala and Afghanistan. More than 42,000 family members depend on the jobs these Fast Runners provide.
