Dragon Boat

Dragon boat meets the Bayou State during this action-packed day of racing on Louisiana’s scenic Northshore. Races take place in the cozy town of Madisonville, with New Orleans and Bourbon Street just a short trip over the causeway for post-event celebrations. Take a break between races and check out the Walgreens Health and Wellness Village on festival grounds, offering products and services to help maintain a healthy lifestyle. Mixed, Women's and Open teams compete in 500m races on the shores of Lake Pontchartrain in picturesque Northshore - St. Tammany. With plenty of racing season remaining in the calendar, this event is a prime opportunity to gain race experience for new and established paddlers in a location that promises fun and excitement. This festival is proud to benefit Mary Bird Perkins Cancer Center. Their mission is to improve survivorship and lesson the burden of cancer. For more information, visit marybird.org. The Walgreens Greater New Orleans International Festival is the perfect event for teams looking for competition, culture and adventure. Many paddlers extend their stay to explore the incredible southern sights, sounds and tastes of Louisiana. Will you be one of them? See you on the water!
