Shiloh Child Development Center, a program of the Family Life Center Foundation (a 501(c)(3) nonprofit in the District of Columbia) has operated since 1958. The Center is designed for children ages two through four along with an after care program for children in Pk3 to 5 th grade. The Center provides a rich and nurturing environment focused on the development of the whole child.
Volunteers are critical to the success of the Center. We are looking for former educators (preferably early childhood and/or elementary) to enhance the learning opportunities of our young learners. Duties include assisting staff with lessons, lesson plans and classroom activities; accompanying children to the nearby playground or to the library once a week (weather permitting); assisting school age children (ages 5-10) in the homework center.
If you are available 2.5 hours (9:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.) one or more days a week OR 1.5 hours (4:30 p.m. to 6:00 p.m.) one or more days per week, WE NEED YOU!
Must have a background check, provide health records (physical and TB test) and Child Protective Registry clearance.
