What is a mentor?

A caring individual who, along with parents or guardians, provides young people with emotional support, friendship, reinforcement and a constructive example in a structured environment.

Make a difference in a child's life by being a mentor at Boys & Girls Clubs of Southeast Virginia.

  • Hours are after school between 3 and 8pm.
  • Must be committed to at least 1 hour a week for the remainder of the school year.
  • Must be at least 18 and consent to a background check.
  • Orientation/training provided.
