You can help a student by volunteering just 1 hour a week!

Inspiring Minds, a 50-year-old educational non-profit, is searching for volunteers to helping a child succeed in school. Opportunities include in-school tutoring with students K through 5 th grade. Inspiring Minds will train you and place you at a local elementary school in the Providence School district. Our programs work in tandem with school faculty and are designed to provide students and volunteers with great opportunities to grow and learn.

We are currently in great need of volunteer tutors to assist students, at least once a week, in literacy or math. We are currently in greatest need of volunteer tutors to assist students in grades Kindergarten through 3rd grade. Volunteers work in the classroom, with small groups no larger than 4, practicing activities provided by the classroom teacher. Students are grouped by skill deficiency and require extra attention, direction, or care to attain proficiency.

Volunteer Requirements

• -Submit to a background check

• -Attend our 2 hour volunteer orientation and training

• -Must be fluent in English

• -Commit to an hour (or more) a week for an entire semester
