Do you have experience sitting with a loved one at the end of life?
Vigil Volunteers (also known as death doulas or death midwives) have a very special spirtual/emtional competence.
Vigil Volunteers sit quietly with a patient during life's final journey. They support both patient and family at this tender time. They sit by the dying patient's bedside and provide comfort, sometimes reading aloud, holding a hand, or playing soothing music.
Vigils typically last 24-48 hours, with each Vigil Volunteer supporting the patient and family in two- to four-hour shifts.
