Celebrating 35 Years of Strengthening Families

Call for Innovative Leaders

About the Foundation

The Henry C. Gregory III Family Life Center Foundation, Inc. is a 501(c)(3) public charity. Its mission is to strengthen and empower families and individuals living in the Shaw community and throughout the District of Columbia.

In February 1982, as a result of the vision, conviction, commitment and compassion of the late Dr. Henry C. Gregory III, fifth pastor of the historic Shiloh Baptist Church of Washington, DC, the Henry C. Gregory III Family Life Center Foundation (FLCF) was established. Since November of 1982, it has provided services to the least, lost, locked out and left behind of all ages in its capacity as a tax exempt, public charity.

The board of directors, committees, and task force volunteers play a critical role in the success of the FLCF. The board of directors governs the FLCF. The FLCF executive director provides administrative and program oversight. Committees and task forces provide critical insight and expertise for the executive director about emerging trends and events affecting the kinds of social services it provides to DC residents and the greater metro area. Together, they enable the FLCF identify and address the emerging issues affecting our community.

For Prospective Nominees

The FLCF seeks inspired, innovative and committed people to serve on its board, committees, and task forces. With your help, the FLCF can continue to provide advocacy and philanthropy that address and positively impact the critical issues that affect society, especially those in need. It is FLCF policy to engage in an active and ongoing effort to develop and maintain an inclusive volunteer candidate pool reflective of society’s diversity. The FLCF bylaws require that we select individuals for board positions from members of Shiloh Baptist Church and individuals from the community.

The FLCF is looking for individuals interested in helping the FLCF advance its mission whose professional backgrounds are in the following areas:

  • Law (especially IRS tax law)
  • Finance
  • Human Resources
  • Early Childhood Development
  • Fundraising
  • Marketing
