Community Hospice is blessed with many caring and dedicated volunteers, all of which have come to us for different reasons. Some individuals have an interest in volunteering because they have had a loved one experience hospice care and they feel it is away to give back. Others have an interest because they are recently retired and are looking for something fulfilling to fill their time with. Each and every new volunteer brings with them a special talent, gift and kindness that can touch the lives of many in a variety of ways. These opportunities can be found by helping in the offices with weekly calls to patients and families, checking supply inventory and even helping to keep our records up-to-date. Other volunteers express an interest in joining fundraising committees, to help raise money to give back to to patient care and special experiences. Some offer a special ear to listen to the patients and families as they tell stories about themselves. A specialty volunteer that has gone to school for their talent, a hair stylist, massage therapy or photographer donating their time. A volunteer who can play a musical instrument , singing or do art projects with the patients. You might have a talent of writing, a volunteer that will write down patient's life and memories for a cherished gift to give to the family. Every volunteer that makes a point to become a hospice volunteer is extremely special. The hour or two you spend with the patient at each visit becomes a life line or outlet for the patient and family. You become part of the story, life's journey for that patient. Your experience with the patients help mold the whole package Community Hospice is giving. You are a very special part of the team, and we are extremely grateful for all you do. Would you like to join this team? Contact Community Hospice today and the volunteer coordinator would love to talk with you. Community Hospice has many locations, if you live in Columbiana County, Carroll County, Stark County, Tuscarawas County and Coshocton County, we have an office you can help in and patients and families you could visit. We look forward to meeting you.

"Volunteer comforts with their presences. One does not need to know all the right words to say but the ability to just be present"
