ICRD is seeking an experienced wordpress developer to complete an on-going project to build a new website. With the pro-bono help of an individually owned and operated tech firm, and an excellent UX designer from Taproot Plus, we are near completion of a brand new website. Due to increasing commitments on the part of the former, we need to hand the project over to a new consultant who can take the building and coding of the website the rest of the way. Our current pro-bono consultant will oversee transfer of the project to a new consultant, and will remain on call as a technical consultant. Likewise with our UX designer, she will stay on the project as well.

The project is built using WordPress and a professional Themify template, the source code is on a GIT repo and the staging hosting environment will be provided. We are currently seeking a volunteer consultant to complete work on building and coding a new organization website. With the help of a highly capable consultant from Tap Root Plus, we have already designed a website that conveys the same level of cutting-edge innovation as our work. What we seek now is a wordpress developer to carry the building of the site to completion. Currently, the new website is 45% complete. Your job will be to take it the rest of the way. You will have support from the current site builder, who will also stay on in a technical advisory capacity, as well as our Tap Root consultant who is leading the UX design.

After 16 years of service, ICRD programming has evolved from small scale, discreet interventions to robust and integrated programs in communities around the world. ICRD's current website no longer effectively conveys the rich story of our work, potentially impacting our fundraising capacity and public image at large.

ICRD continues to be singularly unique in our use of traditional and innovative strategies for preventing and resolving violent conflict. We have a rich history and compelling evidence for the effectiveness and impact of our work to date, and for the importance of faith-based peacemaking in countering violent religious extremism. Completion of this website will enable us to better engage as wide of an audience as possible in our story, and to expand our community of donors and supporters. Our new website design was carried out by a talented UX designer. Initial development has been carried out by an independent volunteer. Both will remain part of this project on an as needed, 'consultancy' basis.

Our goal is to have the new website launched by the end of March 2017.

Mission Statement

Bridging religious considerations with the practice of international politics in support of peacemaking.

Description

Religious convictions are a principal source of values for nearly 85% of the global community. As such, they can be a significant factor in promoting divisiveness and enmity-or in building the trust needed to overcome the conditions driving violent conflict. Because the influence of religious, ethnic and tribal identities is frequently stronger than that of governments, the challenge of resolving conflict and violent religious extremism (VRE) often exceeds the reach of traditional diplomatic or military intervention. ICRD addresses this reality by employing a unique range of capabilities that effectively engage the belief systems and core values found at the heart of identity-‐based conflicts. It also maximizes programmatic impact by integrating its work with other peacemaking efforts, particularly those of governments.
