Do you believe that no one should die alone? Are you caring, compassionate, dependable, and patient? This may be the opportunity for you! As a friendly volunteer you can enrich the lives of terminally ill patients in your community by visiting one or more times each month. Visits may involve playing games, enjoying a leisurely stroll around the nursing home/assisted-living facility or just engaging in lively conversation.
You have the power to bring the greatest gifts to our patients’ lives... a smile and the reassurance that comes with knowing they are genuinely cared for! If you've got a little extra time to give, a big heart and want to hear someone's life story, call or email Heartland Volunteer Coordinator Brenda today to learn more about our unique volunteer opportunities: 800-236-1989 or 920-926-1144 or brenda.bertram@heartlandhospice.com.
Volunteer hours are flexible and opportunities are scheduled according to personality/needs of patient and volunteer, location and availability.
Requirements: Must be 18 years or older; agree to a background/reference check; and attend an orientation to learn more about the philosophy of hospice and our company, the role of the volunteer and communicating with hospice patients and their families.
