We are looking for an Social Media Coordinator(s) to help organize, execute and improve our organization's social . We are open to people sharing this role, if need be but would prefer one person. We would prefer a college educated individual however an aspiring coordinator still in College or even High School is welcome, if they have the determination. We would especially welcome a spouse of a person with a Green card or work permit that is looking for work to stay busy as it is close to our mission as an organization.

Duties and Responsibilities

The following are the Social Media Coordinator's job duties and responsibilities:

  • A social media coordinator must launch and manage social media presence on sites like Facebook, Twitter, Instagram etc
  • S/he should be able to work across departments to ensure proper messaging is being executed online that will help reach the company objectives
  • S/he has to support and protect brand by making sure that positive messaging is maintained in community and establish consistency of messages
  • S/he has to manage online discussions by listening to what the users are saying, reading discussion forums, and responding in a timely manner to the users’ needs
  • S/he has to regularly monitor and track discussion topics for the management team
  • S/he must be able to occasionally prepare reports to update internal staff on usage statistics for grant-writing purposes.

Skills and Specifications

For an event planner to be able to perform his/her duties effectively, certain skills are required. The following are some of the important event planner skills and specifications:

  • A social media coordinator needs to have excellent communications skills, both verbal and written
  • He should know about different social media space and use different consumer statistics to his advantage
  • He should be a regular member of social media sites, blogs, twitter etc
  • He should good analytical and networking skills
  • The candidate must be able to work in a fast-paced environment and must have good leadership quality

Education and Qualifications

A social media coordinator needs to have active knowledge of social media websites in order to use it effectively. We would prefer a college educated individual however an aspiring coordinator still in College or even High School is welcome, if they have the determination.

To promote the economic stability and and independence of African immigrants and other disenfranchised communities in New York, and to support the chartering of the Pan-African Federal Credit Union ("Pan-African FCU").

Description

Purpose Pan-African CDI was founded in 2013 to help combat poverty and underemployment in the African immigrant community in New York, and to help organize the Pan-African Federal Credit Union. Who we serve The Bronx is the poorest borough in New York City with a median income of $27,611, and 79.65% of its residents (96% in our proposed field of membership) are low or moderate income, according to the American Community Survey (5 Year in 2011), Median Family Income Listing in 2011. Bronx households are 28.7% likely to be unbanked (Citywide Financial Services Study by Social Compact, 2009); this is more than double the City average of 13.4% (far above the national average of 7.7%). The Bronx is also home to the largest concentration of African immigrants in the entire United States, amounting to over 60,000 residents (U.S. Census Bureau, 2010).
