Ruth's Safe Haven Emergency Housing for Women and Children is a program of the Family Life Center Foundation, which is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit in the District of Columbia. The mission and long-term goal of the Ruth’s Safe Haven is to work towards the elimination of violence and oppression against women and their children and provide emergency housing and support services for victims/survivors of domestic violence. Ruth’s Safe Haven is dedicated to meeting human needs and giving women and children the opportunity to re-define themselves, without discrimination. Ruth’s delivers services based on a commitment to responding to people’s physical, emotional, and spiritual needs. This commitment and responsiveness is deeply rooted in the Family Life Center Foundation’s 35-year history of empowering and strengthening families and communities.
Ruth’s Safe Haven is designed to help women and children who are victims of domestic violence escape the violence cycle and improve the quality of their lives and their well-being. Clients at Ruth’s need help that includes financial, behavioral, health, and social issues counseling.
