Give back to your community by removing trash from parks and around streams!
With the help of 10,000 volunteers, the Gunpowder Valley Conservancy has removed 196 tons of trash from streams and creeks in the Gunpowder watershed! We need YOUR help to remove more.
Sign up for a Project Clean Stream clean-up
We are seeking individuals and volunteer groups to participate in our annual Project Clean Stream event at various locations throughout the Gunpowder Watershed. Choose from streams nearest to your home or those that really need your help!
Community service learning hours available. Perfect for students, Scout troops, religious affiliation groups, corporate volunteer groups, families, singles and neighbors! Children ages 8 years and up must be accompanied by an adult.
Event Details
When: RAIN OR SHINE! Please arrive by 9:45 am to sign in. Clean up begins at 10:00 am to 1:00 pm. Trash bags, and refreshments will be provided.
What to wear:Bring your own work gloves. Wear rubber boots, (we will be cleaning trash stuck on debris in the water as well), pants, long sleeve top, and hat. Bring rain gear, water bottle and tick repellent.
This clean-up project is sponsored by the Alliance for the Chesapeake Bay and is part of the Gunpowder Valley Conservancy’s Adopt A Creek Program in partnership with Baltimore County Department of Environmental Protection and Sustainability.

The Gunpowder Valley Conservancy (GVC) is a Baltimore County-based land trust and watershed restoration non-profit that mobilizes people and resources to care for the lands, waters and character of the Gunpowder Watershed.
Description
Get your hands dirty for clean water! GVC needs volunteers like YOU to achieve our vision of healthy lands, healthy waterways, and healthy communities within the Gunpowder Watershed. We work with volunteers of all ages, as well as individuals, families, or groups. Our volunteer opportunities are eligible for community service learning hours.
Join us for a meaningful environmental stewardship activity such as tree planting, tree maintenance (removing invasive plants), or stream clean-up.
