Assist our Development Team with administrative tasks while shadowing and learning from managers experienced in grant writing, volunteer outreach, database management, marketing and more.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide administrative and clerical support for various team members.
  • Post volunteer opportunities on community boards and run background checks.
  • Assist the marketing team with various projects (including social media posts and website content).
  • Help researching community need and preforming situational analysis for grants.
  • Provide on-site and planning support for events (i.e. the Power of One Luncheon, Garden Party).
  • Complete and comply with intern timekeeping records and policies.
  • Assist with various database management projects.
  • Effectively communicates agency mission, policies, values and decisions.

Qualifications:

  • Strong writing abilities.
  • Self-driven & excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Possess an intermediate level of computer skills in Microsoft Office Suite and Gmail.
  • Possess a high level of organizational/ prioritization skills, attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to function in a high-paced environment and quickly change tasks.
  • Be self-directed.
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
  • Sensitivity and ability to relate to people from diverse lifestyles and cultures.

  • Build your portfolio and shadow experienced professionals.
  • Learn how to navigate and utilize a variety of non-profit databases and programs: Volgistics, Raisers Edge, Greater Giving, Mail Chimp, etc.

Training/Resources Provided: Training will be provided to ensure that the participant is well versed in the inner workings of our office environment, agency processes and systems.

Commitment/Duration: Long-term (minimum of 6 months), though total number of hours and schedule flexible.
