**THIS IS AN ONGOING POSITION, MUST BE AVAILABLE FOR A MINIMUM OF THREE MONTHS OR MORE. THIS OPPORTUNITY IS NOT SUITABLE FOR GROUPS.**

POSITION TITLE: FAMILY SERVICES VOLUNTEER

PURPOSE/GOAL OF POSITION: To support the Salvation Army Family Services office in preparing and distributing food to homeless and low-come individuals (including veterans), entering data electronically, filing and maintaining related distribution documents as well as other miscellaneous duties.

1-2 volunteers needed on all shifts.

Available Shifts:

Monday: 9am-12pm 1pm-4pm

Tuesday: 9am-12pm 1pm-4pm

Wednesday: 9am-12pm 1pm-4pm

Thursday: 9am-12pm 1pm-4pm

Qualifications:

  1. Must have excellent customer service skills. Must be compassionate while working with homeless and low-income individuals.
  2. Strong attention to detail.
  3. Bilingual in English and Spanish preferred, but not required.
  4. Must be comfortable taking initiative.
  5. Must be available during at least one complete shift.

Duties:

  1. Prepare and distribute food bags for homeless and low-income individuals, including veterans.
  2. Data entry.
  3. Organize, maintain and file client related documents.
  4. Other miscellaneous administrative and cleaning duties as needed.
