Horizon on Wheels is a once a week, in hospital opportunity whereby volunteers bring a camp like play program to children while they are undergoing chemotherapy and other treatments. Our program consists of toys, games, puzzles and weekly themed craft projects. Horizon on Wheels volunteers should be 18 years of age or older, and able to work in a hospital environment with children.

Mission Statement

Horizon on Wheels provides a joyful camp experience to children in Pediatric Hematology/Oncology Units in Hospitals. Our goal is to provide fun and laughter to patients and their siblings while offering respite for their families during their hospital stay.

Description

Horizon on Wheels volunteers bring the joy and fun of day camp to children in hospitals while they are undergoing chemotherapy and other treatments. . Children's eyes light up every time they see our volunteers pulling in our giant rainbow tie-dyed trunk filled with toys, games, surprises and weekly themed projects. These activities keep participants engaged and happy.
